Just moved in to new apartment for my 2nd year of college and one of my roomies got an ownage wireless modem/router thing.

For some reason though I can't get my Wii to go online even though it picks up the signal when I ask it to search for an access point and input the WEP address. What was interesting, however, is that all of our PC's couldn't use the router either until we made the connection SHARED rather than OPEN.

I don't know how to do this with my Wii.

You need to know the following info:

1) What's the SSID of the router?
2) What kind of security (if any) is used? (WEP/WPA/WPA2) What is the key?
3) Is MAC-address filtering enabled?

For #1, the Wii should find it, somehow even if it isn't broadcast (I don't broadcast mine, but it picked it up).

For #2, the Wii should support WEP or WPA (not sure about WPA2). There will be a place on the setup on the Wii for you to enter in the security key.

For #3, if it's enabled, you will need to enter in the MAC address of the Wii onto the router itself.

It's almost a guarantee that if you're having problems, you're getting one of those 3 things wrong. So check them carefully.
