Okay, my two young lads have a new Wii. I got Mario Kart to go along with it.

Now that the unit is a few hours old, my thoughts are turning to a few items.

First - backing up my games. I see many ideas for backing up. IIRC, the Wii DVD is a non-normal disc. Can I use a normal program like Brasero or K3B to backup?

Second - in order to play homebrew/a2600/NES games (I have these on MAME on my PCs as well as on my sons' DS units.) do I want to soft-mod or chip the unit?
