and how much do they cost do you think?

You don't necessarily need an adapter. My computer has an SD card slot. Which was a pleasant surprise to say the least, having expected to have to get an adapter.

Not sure about UK prices, but here in the US you can find them as cheap as $9...they typically range from $10 to $25 USD -- it all depends on how many features you need, and how many different types of memory cards/types you need to read.

Could anyone direct me towards an SD Card adapter? My laptop doesn't have an SD card slot so I currently use my home PC, but I've just realised that I won't have that when I go to uni in September.

you can pick up a cheap usb SD card reader from www.ebuyer.co.uk. You always need some form of card reader to access them via pc. Some computers have them built in now, as do some printers, but not all.

They are releativly cheap and for £15 you can get a 30 in one card reader which is what I would reccommend doing in case you ever need to use any other forms of Flash mem.
