So you want to play the Wii on your CRT/LCD monitor right?

not useless at all .. I had to pick one up for my nephew .. he plays his PS3 on his desktop PC (24' widescreen) .. even though it had a DVI connector it was not HDCP certified so the PS3 would not work with it .. The X2VGA2 bypasses HDCP as well as acts like a splitter for multiple sources.

not a waste... :)

i use something similar and has HD tuner (upto 1080p) built in for same or a little less money...

it's listed in my wiichat profile if anyone wants to compare specs

great find Pnut... :)

my has a built in speaker... unlikely anyone would use the little bugger

That wont bypass HDCP .. as far as the PS3 goes all you would get is the infamous "Black Screen"

HDFury is another product you can try.

** correction to myself .. HDCP is only when trying to use the HDMI interface (as in the PS3). In the context of this thread which is using the Wii and the component cables, HDCP does not cuase any issue **Sorry**

:p i already got a component to s-video and that's good enough for me, if i wanted to play on my monitor (which i don't). But I definitely know that there are cheaper alternatives, (and they do broadcast in hd) but just don't advertise for use on the game console but could be used.
