Some interesting stuff there fellas. Especially happy about the use of the gamecube pad for all VC content and the online buying of points :D.

Nice info, although there is one part that is incorrect. You will be able to play Gamecube games with the Classic Controller says IGN. Source

Can't wait to re-buy a wavebird for Wii; gosh, I better start looking for one and another copy of SSBM!:ee5k:

This article was posted on the 3rd of november, and the first line states: "The launch of the Wii console is little over a month away now". I think it may be safe to assume that this is an old interview, that was just now posted.

It has to be true that you can use Classic controllers for GC games, as that seems like the only reason they would have the second analogue stick. Otherwise they would be C-buttons, not a C-stick.just a thought. I pre-ordered a classic controller for the purpose of using it for Smash Brothers Melee. Hope it works.

So just to confirm everything we know so far. . .to the best of anyones knowledge the following things are true:

-Wiimote/Nun-chuck are for Wii games & NES VC games
-Gamecube controller (including wavebird) can be used for any gamecube and VC game
-Classic Controller can be used for any VC game and for any gamecube game
-Developers MIGHT develope Wii games for the gamecube or classic controller

If I am incorrect please correct me. I think it is important that everyone know the facts before they spend $$ on controllers.

Nintendo: All virtual console games can be played using the Classic Controller or Nintendo GameCube pads. The Wii Remote can also be turned on its side and used as a traditional controller to play NES games. However, a game will only be playable with the control mechanism it was designed for. So, for example, you will play NES games with the D-pad, not an analogue stick or motion-sensitive functionality.

Time to get more "cheap" gc pads
