Stuck at the top of the Tree, Chapter 3-3

I read the Gamespot walkthrough for this chapter and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the through the last floor to the (and in turn the door) at the top of tree (inside).

For the record, the switch is pink and the last pink platform is enabled.

The walkthrough states I should float to the far right with Peach and switch to Mario (3-D) and then hop up to the last floor, but how.

Furthermore, I see no blue switch around to trip (as mentioned in the Gamespot online game guide), not that I would know what to do if there were one there. The floor below the last door at the top of tree (inside) seems to be solid and I can't seem to find any opening, particularly in the Mario 3-D mode.

The Gamespot walkthrough also mentions making use of the Thudley pixel. I wish I knew what on earth for.

Anyone else been stuck here and figured out how to get through it.

i didnt think the tree was THAT difficult, only time consuming, because when you missed a jump, you had to essentially start all over again.

I thought the Whoa zone was really difficult though.
