Deep Silver today announced Summer Stars, a sports game for all major consoles, including the Wii. The game will be available in the second quarter of 2012, and features 18 different disciplines and challenge, covering a whole range of summer sports, including Triple Jump, Mountain Biking, Diving and Sprinting. Gameplay modes include career mode, in which the player bids to become a top athlete, and multiplayer mode, where they can compete directly with up to three friends or family members on the split screen. Summer Stars lets players experience a wide variety of events, special challenges and competitions at exciting venues, including London, the scene of the Summer Olympics, as well as lots of other well-know stadiums and arenas around the world. Summer Stars is designed to enable the player to decide just how far they want to be physically involved in the game, as it has support for both traditional arcade-style controls as well as motion control.
