FOX Effect: Target pulling Mass Effect off the shelves

What do you know: besides the fact that FOX News is "stuffed with morons" (I quoted Jon Stewart on that), they also have the super-natural capacity to...erm, influence other people:D.

Following FOX's report that BioWare's Mass Effect game is actually a porno-flick, a lot of gamers and gaming-involved journalists slammed the TV channel's review of the game, and, believe it or not, even infamous anti-violent games lawyer Jack Thompson agreed that FOX was way off line.

Apparently, US retailer Target is either too scared or has the same experience in gaming as Cooper Lawrence, since they've begun pulling Mass Effect off shelves. What's even more absurd is that the game is actually in stock, but Target employees are not allowed to sell it...

Want more of this? I got more of this! Sex-stuffed titles like "Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laudae" or "Playboy the Mansion" are still on Target's shelves, of course situated in the proximity of The Bible Game... And they're at the discount section...

Talk about mass(ive) (d)effect, eh?

I love how there's more people trying to get "M" rated games off the shelves than there are people trying to cure cancer really shows what out priorities as a world are. Honestly anyone who's playing Mass Effect has already seen everything in it my god I know people who looked at porn when they were 5. People seriously blame everything on videogames, did you guys know the war in Iraq was actually started by debates over whether or not Halo 1 was better than Halo 2.

Mass Effect still being sold.

First up: from gaming news site Playfuls, word that Target stores would be pulling Mass Effect from it's shelves because of the hatchet job Fox News performed on the game. The truth? I've personally spoken to employees of two different Target stores, and called two other stores, all of which were selling the game as of this evening (it's also still available on the website). An individual store may have pulled the game, but it has not been pulled by the chain. Rumor debunked.

Fox really needs to bite the bullet and admit they were wrong on this one.

everybody knows it by now anyways. they could redeem themselves, but most likely will not.
