Konami has today announced the development of The Cages Pro-Style Battling Practice for the Nintendo Wii. The game is a baseball batting simulator, which features mini-games that are focusing on hitting. The mini-games are designed to test players’ hand/eye coordination with a virtual pitching machine that has 19 different pitches for you to master.

In the game, players swing the Wii Remote in an effort to hit the different types of pitch, including curve balls, sliders and fast balls, all of which are simulated from real-life pitchers. The game is also compatible with the Wii MotionPlus for an even more accurate experience. The natural learning curve enables players to develop their skills until they are confident enough to take on up to four other players in a home-run challenge. The game also includes a fitness element that tracks your cardiovascular progress by displaying the number of calories burned during a hitting session.

The Cages Pro-Style Batting Practice will be available on Wii in the first quarter of 2010.
