Sony and mac are teaming up to make the ps3 ...slower?

I just hear that Sony is teaming up to put the processor from a mac into the ps3's the odd part about it is they are slower then the ones all ready in the ps3 WTF i wonder what Sony and mac are up too... that or they are just stupid

It was a big thing a while back, it's that Mac OS will be available for PS3 not the Mac processor will be in the PS3. Just a operating system compatibility.

I mentioned this a year ago. There will be a 5th version of the PS3 in 2008. The rumors were Dual Shock 3, and a less powerful cell processor, to save money on production costs. I asked what would happen to games like Metal Gear Solid 4? That game pushes the limit of cell. Most games do not push the limit, so from a business perspective it's a valid move.

Would I make such a move? I would have launched the 20gb and stayed right there. 1 version is enough. The 20gb now would be around $400 anyways.
