EA Play’s The Sims 3 was a huge hit on PC and Mac last year. Not only was it the Number One best-selling PC title of 2009, it was also the biggest PC launch in EA’s history. Now console owners are getting a chance to experience some of that Sims 3 magic this autumn, and that includes Wii owners!

In the console version of The Sims 3, players can create Sims with unique personalities, fulfil their desires – or not, and control their lives within a living neighbourhood. Among the new features Wii owners can look forward to are Karma Powers, which give you instant control to unleash said powers on your hapless Sims, bestowing on them the chance to “get lucky”, enjoy “instant beauty”, or suffer an “epic fail”, to name just three. Take care how you use them though, or Karma might come back at you and bite you where it hurts!

Exclusive to the Wii version, players can frolic in an all-new beach town with unique residents, traits, careers and lifetime wishes. Players will also be able to play the game with their friends, going head-to-head in the new “Life Moments” game to earn rewards. Finally, players can enjoy several adventure quests, as the game challenges them to explore their town and discover its many secrets.

Here’s Sam Player, Executive Producer at EA, talking about the game:

“We’re bringing players the best console and handheld game for The Sims franchise to date and are excited to offer a unique experience for all types of gamers on their platform of choice. Building on the unique traits system, living open neighbourhood, lifetime wishes, and endless customisation options, we’ve tailored each platform of The Sims 3 with exclusive features to allow for even more control, creativity, and connectivity.”
