The long-awaited Transformers: Cybertron Adventures for the Wii has hit stores today in North America, with the legendary conflict between the Autobots and the Decepticons finally coming to a head. The game is distinct from, but follows a similar storyline to, the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC versions of the game. Developed by Next Level Games and built from the ground up for the Wii, the game sees fans fighting for Cybertron through two unique Autobot and Decepticon campaigns that feature an action-packed mix of rail shooter gameplay levels in robot, driving and flying models. A second player can also join in by taking control of an extra reticle that provides added firepower during the campaign. Here’s David Pokress, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision, talking about the game:

“Transformers has absolutely been a passion project from day one, a true reimagining of the franchise that transports gamers straight to the core of the Transformers universe.”

The Wii version sounds horrible. They haven't released any screen shots and the only info has been that it has rail shooting and has no transforming. That hardly promotes any confidence in the game.

We picked up the 360 version today though and it is awesome. It would be a great 3rd person shooter in its own right but for any Transformers fans it's like a dream come true. The gameplay is a lot like a 3rd person COD. The controls, reviving team mates and multiplayer modes are very similar; but it actually seems more fun when you're playing as a giant robot that can turn into a tank or something.

Looking forward to seeing if the Wii version does offer any kind of worthwhile experience and if it does then i'll pick it up too. If it's just an average rail shooter I won't bother though as the excellent Sin & Punishment 2 is out next week.

Meh you want a great Transformers game?
The first Transformers game on PS2 ranks up there as one of the best
In saying that there needs to be more than one good one
and has no transforming.

WHATS THE POINT OF IT!!!?
