Ubisoft has announced that it’s about to bring the musical magic of ABBA to the Wii, with a new dance game, ABBA You Can Dance. The game has been developed exclusively for the Wii by Ubisoft Paris, the studio that revolutionised the genre with the massively successful Just Dance series, as well as Ubisoft Montpellier and Ubisoft Bucharest. The game features25 ABBA songs, including all of their biggest hits, such as Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, and Waterloo. The professionally choreographed routines and unique environments featured in the game take their inspiration from ABBA’s music videos and live performances.

“In the video game market, Ubisoft is the dancing king,” said Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA chief marketing and sales officer at Ubisoft. “With ABBA You Can Dance, players can dance, they can jive, and they can have the time of their lives, all thanks to ABBA’s music and Ubisoft’s latest entertaining dance video game.”

Aside from clearly getting very much into the spirit of the game, if that quote is anything to go by, Ubisoft is ensuring that more people will be able to join in the fun of the game, with two players being able to sing along to lyrics that appear on-screen, and up to four players simultaneously performing the dance moves. Also featured is a mini-musical mode, which lets players act out the key roles in a love story based on some of the group’s classic songs. And as if all that wasn’t enough to get ABBA fans running down to their nearest games emporium this November when the game is released worldwide, it even features original video clips and displays anecdotes and fun facts about the group.
