Nordic Games has today announced the return of the hugely popular and MCV Award-nominated We Sing for the Wii, with We Sing Encore. The first We Sing was the best-selling singing game for the Wii across the PAL territories, so the imminent arrival of a sequel is hardly a shocking surprise!

We Sing Encore will be available in July 2010, and will include 40 new songs, the majority of which feature the original videos. The songs span pop, rock, rap and R&B, and include such awesome songs as Shut Up by the Black Eyed Peas, Umbrella by Rihanna and Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The game boasts lots of all-new features, including a single-player reward system for soloists, and competitive or cooperative achievements for groups. The addition of a “real karaoke” mode offers the greatest challenge, removing backing vocals entirely. Other gameplay enhancements include the introduction of Star Notes and a new jukebox mode allowing non-stop music. The entire game engine has also been overhauled, and now has HDTV support, specific anti-lag features, and a visual makeover.

And for those of us who are tone-deaf and can’t sing? Well never fear, because the new “singing lessons” area will teach the vocally challenged how to sing like professionals. That must be some area!
