wifi adapter?

what exactly does this product do? it says it creates a wifi connection with out a wireless router.. am i reading that correctly? i dotn see how its possible.. can some one either correct me or explain this to me.

nevermind, i found out it plugs into the computer to make a wireless signal. forget this thread.
