wifi failure

Been trying to connect a Nintendo Wii to the internet useing its onboard wifi but no luck yet , i have a cable set top box to which i have a Netgear router and the main pc is upstairs in the office fitted with a dongle , The wii is in the same room as the router , search for a connection on the wii and ziltch , Virgin media uk support have been a joke

I have a Virgin Media [Lets call it NTL] Box and my internet runs though that.
I currently use my Next door's router lol

Anyways, Let me get this straight:

NTL Box > Router Connected to That > Wireless Router from the Router to your PC Upstairs? > Wii

The Wii should pick it up. Try configuring your Internet settings

Make sure your router is broadcasting its SSID or it will not be seen as an access point
