Wifimax Datel Dongel error 52232

Hi everyone,

Sorry to bother you but I've got a problem getting my Wii on the net and I went to a lot of french forums to no avail. SO I thought maybe you might be willing to get me out of this corner.

I've got a"box" from my internet provider which has only one ethernet slot (used for the comp.) It can have a router function but I didn't enable it.
So I bought a Wifimax Datel dongle. I installed it and the softwares, and configured it (channel 1, WEP,...)
I shared my internet connection and checked the following in "parameters" :
DHCP (67)
DHCP (68)
DNS
server FTP
Server Telnet
Server Web (HTTP)
safe server web (HTTPS)
UPnP (TCP)
UPnP (UDP)
Some of them asked for the name of IP of the comp, so I put it in (name of the comp obtained with ipconfig/all).

There are a few infos before them concerning my "box" with another IP, DHCP disabled. But I don't think they are relevant as the computer will play the part of the router and not the "box".

So I configured my Wii. When I do it. The dongle is detected ok.
Using the automatic configuration, I always get the 52030 error.
So I configured it manually.
I put the SSID name, the WEP code, put my Ethernet connection card IP (I added 1 to the last digit) , put the same defalt gateway and subnet mask. I then entered the same DNS addresses. No proxy. I tried with MTU set on 0 and on 1500 with no difference.

When the Wii tries to connect, the software on the comp writes its MAC, so I didn't set it manually as i works fine.
I tried with my firewall and Windows firewall disabled. No change.
I always get the 52232 error.

I've searched everywhere I could, spent 3 whole evenings trying to solve this but nothing work. I'm not a comp professionnal, but I still know a few things and I tried everything I could.

So if someone could help me I would be most grateful. If other pieces of information are required, just tell me which and how to get them, I will add them to my post.

Hi again,
I've thought about something that might be part of my problem.
I set a fix IP for the dongle, it gave me a submask automatically, but no gateway.
So I changed that and put for the dongle's gateway the same address as its IP.
Now I've got one/two silly questions and one problem.
The problem first : when I type "ipconfig/all" I get a different IP for the wireless connection (dongle) than yesterday. Is it normal ?

The questions :
Do I have to set some DNS too in the parameters of the wifimax ?
On the Wii, which IP, gateway, DNS do I have to input ? Those of the wireless or those of my computer Ethernet card ?

Thanks for the answer.
I've already tried there. The problem is that the WifiMax is neither "Nintendo Wifi USB" nor a router. So that none of the instructions completely apply.
Besides, when I set a static IP (as indicated) I get the IP and the subnet mask but no gateway nor DNS.

So I tried about every possibilites both on the computer : setting manually no gateway, no DNS, settig same/ different gateway and/or DNS as the ones from my ethernet connection, and on the Wii : automatic setting, manual IP settin, settig IP/DNS/gateway the same as the ethernet connection or as the wifi...

Except with the automatic connection (error 52032) and a few combinations (50030 or 50130) I always get an error message (either 52230, 52231 or 52232).
I really don't know what I can do more.
I've tried enabling the DHCP for the WiFi, but it seems impossible as I can't share the connection (no options for that in the parameters) I've disabled both firewalls...
Nothing works.

I spent some time this week-end againt trying to connect my Wii to that ******* Wifimax dongle.

I tried restarting from the begining and re-set all IPs....

Here's what I did

Ethernet connection on PC : I let the computer set those
IP ***.***.0.1 (can't remember the first digits I'm not on my computer)
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway :
DNS : 212.27.53.252
212.27.54.252

Wireless connection (Wifimax on PC )
IP ***.***.0.2 (beginning is the same as PC's IP)
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateways : none
DNS same as PC

Settings on the Wii :
IP ***.***.0.3
Mask 255.255.255.0
Gateway : ***.***.0.2
DNS same as PC

I disabled my firewall and windows firewall.

Still no change. Error 52231

My ethernet connection is shared. I tried to open the ports but I'm not sure I did it properly.
What more can I do to get that connection working ?

have you tried adding the "ethernet" IP as the gateway for the
wifimax dongle?

failing that, consider "bridging" the ethernet connection and the wifimax
connection in control panel>network connections.

iirc, you press and hold the CTRL button and click on both "icons" then right
click...you *should* now see the option to bridge the conections.

**EDIT**

you'll need to disable ICS on the ethernet (internet) connection.
have a look at the following info from the M$ website regarding bridging:-

I tried making a bridge. I followed the instructions of your link. So first I disabled the shared connection, and then bridged the two connections (ethernet connection PC and wireless Wifimax).
That's where things went bad. It worked ok or so it seemed.
When setting the Wii on automatic I got 52730 (same IP as another) So I set them manually, but I got a 52130. Then I discovered that I couldn't access internet anymore on my computer. I tried reseting the connection but to no avail. I had to erase the bridge for the connection to come back to normal.
