I don't think it's something one can pinpoint to just children. It's probably related to children being able to grasp simple concepts (Hold the B button and swing). While adults try to complicate things, I was the same way when I started, but I think the idea of being as old as I am, I can grasp the mechanics to the game to an extent I can bowl a 300 in a video game by knowing how it works.
