Wii connect 24 and online

I have a few questions about wiis since i dont have one till my birthday - not long now!

1. How do you get a friend code?
2. Can you get points online withou the internet channel?
3. If I have a lan adaptor can I use my pc while wii connect 24 is on (I do have broadband)?

1. How do you get a friend code?

Depends on the game. It's typically shown on the screen where you set up your friend list. The Wii itself has a code too, and that's on the first page of the Wii address book screen.

2. Can you get points online withou the internet channel?

The Internet Channel is really just a web browser. The Shopping Channel is where you can go to buy and spend Wii Points. You can also get Wii Point cards at retail stores.

3. If I have a lan adaptor can I use my pc while wii connect 24 is on (I do have broadband)?

It should not interfere with other internet connections.

I was very disappointed to get home and there not be an ethernet port on the console it's self...

Yeah no RJ45 on the console, but then again who wants to trail Cat5 around their living room from their PC / router?

Read through both of those for a head-start so that when you do get your Wii, you'll be ready to go from the start.
