Hi all, thanks for maintaining this helpful forum

I bought a Wii in US and have now moved it to India when I returned here for work.
I tried connecting my Wii at home in India directly into a India power supply 220-240 V 50 HHz. Needless to say it didn't work. Waht's bad is that it blew up my Wii adapter.
The question is will plugging back a new AC adapter, along with a step down transformer, help me? Or did the improper power supply burn not just the Wii adapter but also the Wii console?

Cheers

Hopefully it was only the power adapter that was fried, but there's no easy way to know for sure if the Wii itself is damaged until you try it out again with the proper adapter/transformer.

Next time it's better to se a multi-outlet safety plug board that has a built-in overload cutout feature.I bought it when I was going abroad, to make sure I won't burn anything. It's pretty cheap and you can also buy it online. It's definitely worth it, especially when you travel.
