Wii Ethernet Kit Release?

I've looked everywhere, and all I can seem to come up with is that I think the Wii Ethernet Kit was supposed to be released in December.

Could someone please provide any info on when the Kit will be released or if there are any alternatives to it other than going wireless. I have a wired router with an ethernet cord that reaches my Wii, I just can't plug it in because it isn't usb.(obviously)

I've sort of been under the impression that regular Ethernet to USB adapters may not work because of compatibility issues with the Wii, is this right?

No one has any idea. Nintendo said they were working on it and that was it. Could be June or even next Christmas or never. Seems to have been pretty ignored by most people.

I need one so i am hoping it is sooner rather than later. I am a little pissed because they haven't told us when yet.

BTW: The DS wifi dongle thing only works with Windows XP. just a tidbit of advice.

according to this page it will be coming out in time for the UK launch on December 8. I would assume that it will be close to the same thing in America. I don't know how legit it is though.
