Do you need the wi-fi connection to the wii or can i have the ether-net connection cord?
You can use ethernet, but you have to get an adapter since the Wii doesn't have an ethernet port.
btw why does wii not have an ethernet port, im gonna buy the adapter. Hm maybe thats it, those bastards... Grr
Most people who have multiple devices that they want online, use a router.
Yeah but where my wii is located it cant reach the router.
Which is why they have built in wi-fi.
...The wii can connect to a wireless router wirelessly.
Heck, the router would be able to provide wireless internet to your next door neighbors.
yup.. that's why u need to setup password for your router
Yep, thats right. lol
This also has an upside and downside.
Upside - Possible to set up a lan network with neighbours, meaning that LAN compatible games like Battalion Wars can be played with neighbours, without the need for the internet.
Downside - It's possible for people to hack into your LAN network. Unless you have security.
