wii remote lag on hdtv

When I play my wii on my hdtv, there is a considerable amount of lag with the remote. Like when i move it across the screen, it doesn't move at the exact time creating a whiplash effect. And even the buttons too-when i press one, the action doesn't happen until a half a second later. I switched some kind of setting on the tv and it got a little better though. However, when i use my standard tv, it plays so much better and is spot on. Does anyone know the cause of this and if maybe buying the component cables will help?

It's the TV, although not all have a noticable lag.

Some TV's have a "game" mode or something like that to reduce the lag. Check your TV manual.

Component cables will help. Any game will work better EXCEPT Guitar Hero 3.
GH3 is ****ing unplayable. It's ridiculous. I'm still annoyed over it because I called 4532748392748392 stores to find that game and now I can't play it properly. Whatever.

Doesn't Guitar Hero have configuration settings specifically for dealing with lag?
