Hahaha! nice one Allsports!, can clearly see your point on this topic. But still, I would find it very nice to have skill points given when Im playing versus my girlfriend or another friend.
Would give alot more compotion to the game, and advance the durability of the game as a whole.

On the online-gaming matter of this game: I would really really find it very fun and exciting if I could go online and play a 2v2 with a friend of mine, and challenge random pairs of Mii's

Yeah, I really wonder if there arent any directly purpose of achieving the 2000+ skill point ranking....

Basically, the only thing that happens when youa re over 2000 is that if you so much as drop a game in a 5 game match your rating can drop heavily!
