MTV reports today that Straight Right, the developer that is bringing Mass Effect 3 to the Wii U, has been talking to Eurogamer about the other games that it’s working on for Nintendo’s forthcoming console. In the chat, Straight Right CEO Tom Crago said that the studio, which is based in Australia, is currently busy with two other Wii U games, one of which he says will be completely original and “our own IP,” while the other is “based on another big franchise that will come out in 2013. It’s a big title and you will have heard of it.” And despite the fact that Nintendo has yet to announce the Wii U’s official release date, let alone what games will be available at launch, Crago told Eurogamer that Mass Effect 3 will be one of the launch games. Finally, Crago couldn’t resist talking up the Wii U Mass Effect 3, and who can blame him?! This has to be one of the new console’s most eagerly anticipated titles, aside from Nintendo’s own games.

“This is the best title we’ve worked on in a long time,” he said. “There’s a significant technical challenge bringing the game from its original format to the Wii U. It’s a new, different and sophisticated piece of hardware, so there’s a good deal of technical energy that’s been expended making that happen.”
