i cant find my wii username, nor do i remember setting one up..

I think your wii username might be you Mii name. Not to sure though sorry.

its completely optional
even for online
the name they put near the friend code doesnt even matter

if you are talking about your username in the wii console, then go to options on wii main menu then click on settings. one of the setting menus will have something like console name or something click on it. re me if this helps you.
