i have been reading into wii video 9 you convert videos in it put them on a sd card and watch them on the wii photo chanel i wanted to know if this is a considered a hack or a mod because if it is i won't do it but if it's not that is good.

It's not a hack. The photo channel does play videos, but only very specific types. This is all explained in the manual.
