When my Wiimote is turned on, it emits a slight ringing. Not loud enough to hear normally, only when it is near my head.

Is this normal?

No, it's not. It's probably telling you to scrub that paint off.

Haha :wtf:

No it's both of my remotes, including the white one.

If I put it to my ear, it has a slight staticy noise, it's on.
But ringing?
Open it up and tinker, it's now garbage to Nintendo ever since you opened it to paint!

EDIT: You posted before I finished, so maybe batteries?

if you can only hear it if it's close to your head, it's probably ok. I can hear ringing from computers if I concentrate and put my head near them... (supersonic hearing!! XD)

seriously, if it's only ringing close to your head, just ignore it. I'd post about it if you start hearing it away from your head.

As long as it still functions properly, you're fine. These things are durable, I throw mine (on purpose) all the time, no problems yet.

frummage turn your wiimote on and off and listen if you can hear it away from ur head.

Ok, I opened the sucker up and took everything out. There was a loose connection to the force-feedback module (rumbly bit  ). I resoldered and now it's fine.
