I'll have to think about that.
Besides I don't have XP anymore
It was lost when we moved

this way you get to stay away from the evil monster known as vista.
its not that bad.

Can I use the free version of each service?
Or should I buy them?

Nintendo doesn't even sell/support that wifi adapter anymore. For the price difference between that and a wireless router, it's not worth the hassle. You should just sell it and rid yourself of the headache.

I seem to remember the Nintendo wifi adapter having issues with Vista.

And your general experience with Vista is the norm: it's a bloated piece of slow junk. On any given hardware, it will run 25-33% slower than XP on the same hardware. There's really nothing of value to the consumer in Vista... Microsoft mainly just produced it to generate more income for themselves and to pacify the media companies who want more DRM. And the sweet thing is, they can make people upgrade simply by ceasing support for XP.

ok so your have a good amount of RAM, and your HD space is good. yet your downloads is slow, thats got nothing to do with your RAM or your version of vista.

Either you have a slow internet connection or like someone else stated, got you something hogging your net connection. Test your internet speed at speedtest.net and post the results.

don't go buying more ram or vista 64 bit.

Also 500GB isn't much i got a total of 1.5TB's of disk space for my iMac.

We know that he's using a lot of bandwidth...

Have you tried getting WinPatrol to see what exactly is running and what tries to run, not to mention merely pulled up the task manager to see what else is running under your name?

Also, is anyone else on the network, say, downloading stuff?

Oh.

Never.
Ever.
Ever.
Call Geek Squad.
