i wouldn't prefer it, but as it is in zelda, it gets old fast and a normal controller would be just as good
Well that's how the Wii version of TP, and probably the next Zelda game for the Wii will be. It's not that big of deal. If you don't like it, get the Gamecube version.
Dbomb3,
In the Gerudo desert, there's a giant stone slab on top of a large rock (the exact location is hard to describe). Have Midna warp it to where Eldin Bridge was to fix it. Afterwords, go back to the same place in the desert (there should be a warp point by now). There should be a hole where the stone was and stairs leading down into it. That's your place.
Oh yeah, buy Twilight Princess FatSamTAS7.

So, again, this question is to those that have played/own both the GCN and The Wii versions of TP. I own the GCN version and am wondering if it is well worth my money to purchase the Wii version and play it again, or if the differences between the two is not worth buying the Wii version?

In my opinion, there is really no point of buying the Wii version. All you're going to get is some better graphics and instead of pressing the 'A' button, you twitch your wrist from side to side. Plus if you're like me, the novelty of games wares off after the first time passing it.

You could say that you hated all the other Zelda games and still like this one

I'm not playing Twilight Princess, ALL girls look bad in green!
Do these three people have any sense!
For anyone that likes logic:
1. Midna's the imp IDIOT!
2. You sick person, you gave Zelda a sex change and then you kill her!
3. You play with LINK NOT ZELDA!!!!
He is right. Do not buy it again. The only thing you will get is twisting your wrist, slashing a few times with your WiiMote, and using it to aim.
Wait until 2009 when the new Zelda game comes out, which will use the Wii to its full capabilities.
Instead, with that money, buy Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart, or Super Mario Galaxy. I recommend SSBB or Mario Kart especially.
I already own them all. Thanks though! I think I'll hold out for the new game... which by the way, I hope isn't pushed back a year and a half like Twilight Princess was! That was annoying!
I recommend getting it, and really, if you're skeptical, you could always rent it first. The dungeons vary in the rare ridiculously easy to the pretty friggin' hard. And the adventure along the way is fun too. (Though at one point you'll just go Temple, Temple, Temple, but other than that.... It's worth the high praise and scores it got.
Sorry to bump up an old topic, but seeing as i have a similar question why make a new thread when this one is already still on the front page. I've only ever played Minish Cap and Four Seasons, and I will be buying OoT when I get my wii, but is it worth getting TP if i'm a relatively new player the franchise?
Wow, good for you for not making a new thread. Doesn't crowd the section that way.
Minish Cap and Four Seasons are so entirely different from OoT and TP.
MC and FS are 2D, 3rd player view (viewing from far-away) games.
OoT and TP are 3D, interactive, 2nd player view (very close) and are much more fun.
Ok first of all, OoT is for N64. Not Wii. You can get it for Wii if you use the Virtual Console (it costs 1000 points for OoT, so about 10 dollars, I recommend buying them on your Wii, go to WiiShop channel and go to Virtual Console and buy 1000 Wii Points, then search Orcarina of Time and buy it). You can get Orcarina of Time, but it would be better just to get Twilight Princess. Its an actual game for the Wii (Its about $60 CAD, less for US). Its much more fun, has a great storyline and interactive gameplay. I highly recommend this game, but there are alot of other games that are also must-haves for Wii, such as: Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 Corruption, and so on. Depends what kind of player you are. If you have alot of people to play with, get Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, or Mario Party 8.
New player to the franchise? Well, I made a thread a while ago about how the storyline goes. At the end, I have a quote that says that the Zelda games are made differently so you can understand the storyline even if you were a first time player. So Outbreak, you can play ANY Zelda game (except for Majoras Mask, which is a sequel to OoT), and understand the plot/storyline. TP is very worth it. I recommend it. Although it is confusing at some parts, but you could post in the Twilight Princess Help thread or PM me if you need help with any parts.
Hope that helps

Great post. I know OoT is for n64, i implied purchasing it on the Virtual Console. I got brawl, as i got my wii yesterday. I have already put in about 3-4 hours. Really fun. My next game will probably be TP. I wont get Guitar Hero, Rock Band, or Mario Party 8 as i Have the former 2 on ps3 and the latter does not interest me. THanks for the help, i guess the storylines are varied enough for me to understand, but hey, i understood Metal Gear lol.
People say that you'll like this game if you like other Zelda games but the only other one I played is the Seasons one for Game Boy and I'm not sure that really counts as one but I did like it. I also like Super Mario Galaxy, do you think i will like Twilight Princess??

Before you get OoT for the VC, have a better idea:
If you don't have a GCN controller, go buy a used.
Go to some used game-store (Gamestop, EB, Gamecrazy, etc.) and look for "Zelda: Collector's Edition"
It has:
Legend of Zelda 1
Legend of Zelda 2
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
(and a 20 minute demo of Wind Waker)
It's about 25-30 dollars, depending where you get it. Maybe it's just me, but I found it to be a better deal (plus I prefer GCN controller over Classic any day, but that's just a personal preference...)
