I was in the process of part 3 where the monkey takes your lamp and leads you through the fog and then you get to the place where the temple is. I got the lamp back and continued onward. I honestly cant remember how far I went, but I needed to quit, so I saved my game and quit. Now when I go back into the saved game, I end up on opposite side of the purple fog and I cannot seem to get to the area to the east where the temple is. I tried to go real slow and try to get through the fog, but I could not climb up the barriers that block my way to get back to the place I was at when I saved my game. I searched the area completely trying to find a place I could get up, but I just end up running out of oil in my lamp and get poisoned by the purple fog. Any ideas on how to get past this point? I really dont want to have to start the entire game over since it says I have logged 10 hours of play time. Let me know. Thanks.

Not sure where abouts you are, but you could try to use a jar to hold more lamp oil or you could go to the side of the fog and do multiple jumps over it. That might be later in the game though.

Righto, i just went back to the place where you said you were stuck to see the problem. So, i started from south faron woods and just when i hit the fog got out my lamp, walked across, making sure to hit b whenever the fog began to get abit too close and the route across the purple fog was a really simple one, you can see on your map where you need to go so you just kind of run in a big semi-circle! If you need any further help i'll do my best but i can't work out from your previous post what the actual problem is! Oh and well, i didn't climb up any barriers, maybe you're hitting obstacles you don't need to hit?

I have a vague recollection of this happening to me too, and it being freakin' hard. But I got through it, somehow. Sorry I can't be more help other than to assure you it's not impossible (I don't think).

The only save-game issue that makes you stuck that I'm aware of happens later in the game I hear but I'm not there yet. I've been distracted by other games for a while now and haven't put in Zelda in a while.

All you do is hit B to swing your lamp to make the fog go away..

That worked! Thanks! I thought I was going to have to start over. I think after the fact, it was not really a save game error but just part of the game. I just didnt remember getting put back behind the fog after the monkey dropped the lantern. I just never figured out the B thing to make the lamp swing.

Lol, that's the thing about Zelda it's often the simplest thing that you need to do you just don't think about it! Glad you didn't rush to restarting the game and now you can go have lots of fun with monkeys!
