My Gears of War broke about a year ago and I had to buy a new one. The 360 actually cracked it, somehow, some way.

Then my 360 got the red rings and I had to send it in, okay..

Now my 360 broke my CoD4 disc, there is a crack on it in the same fashion as the GoW disc had. All though, I'm lucky to some extent... it can still play but occasionally makes a grinding noise and freezes. I'm hoping it can hold out till Too Human or GoW2 comes out.

So I'm gonna resend in my xbox for repairs, the only way I'll be happy after all of this is if they can't find a solution and send me a new console. This new console will hopefully have the HDMI port and falcon chip! I'll be uber happy as the HDMi will take advantage of my HDTV... but yeah

so all in all I got a rare problem... very rare, but at least microsoft is taking care of me. I'm hoping they send me some other free stuff besides extending my warranty 3 months and giving me a month of XBL like they said they would.

nope.

even if it was distributed by microsoft (meaning itd be under the disc replacement program) they wouldnt believe the crack was the console or disc's fault.

I have 5 friends with 360s. 2 are on their seconds (one got his launch though). I think the failure rate of 360s is lowering and lowering so good job for micosoft. And your story also reminded me of what my friend did, he ruined two of his games by tilting the 360 while it was on and so he rented the two games and switched the discs, never got caught lol.

I've had that happen to: Oblivion, COD2/3/4, NCAA 08, Madden 07, Guitar Hero 2, and Mass Effect. Mass Effect still works though. Sucks for you.

I will after GTAIV comes out. Ima beat the game first, then send it in. I'm putting insurance on it so if it gets maimed I can just get a new one.

If I were Microsoft I wouldn't believe you either Sovieto. Not that I dont believe you, but as Microsoft it wouldn't be smart to believe it since people would lie about it so they could get a game replaced. Sounds like a problem with the Disc drive. They should ask you to send in your power supply brick with your 360 when you call. That way they replace your disc drive.

Im personally stacking games for my Gamecube/Wii for when my 360 breaks. Because I just know it's going to break again sooner or later. But I hope it doesn't break when I get a new game, that would suck.

When my friends xbox broke his halo 3 disk and at the same time got the rrod, he somehow persuaded the indian guy from the microsoft call center to get him a replacement disc along with fixing his console. Try to make it clear to the person you talk to that the console is the only reason why its cracked and say that you always keep your discs in perfect condition
