Gamestop Refurbished 360
Hi all.
I recently started to become interested in the world of Microsoft's XBOX 360. Normally, I stay true and loyal to Nintendo...but as time goes on and better titles are being released-- I can't help but become interested in the console Anyway, I noticed that at Gamestop, they sell refurbished XBOX 360's. I am not interested in spending a bunch of money, so I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with buying refurbished. I can save quite a bit of money and I am not THAT hardcore into getting some pristine super duper system. I am aware of the red ring of death issue...so that is what makes me wonder.
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

It costs $200 for a refurb 360 with no HDD, It may not may not have warranty, and it's $150 more to get a new one with warranty.
I wouldn't do it. Maybe 360 isn't for you if you don't want to dish out $350.

360
it's best to just buy a new one if your going to invest in one. I constantly said over and over that i would neva buy a 360 b/c of the loyalty i had for the wii. But the gaming itself for 360 is out of this world. The arcade games are way better than the ones on VC. Once I plugged it up i neva unhooked it. I haven't played my wii since......... it's just sitting there next to my 360 collecting dust poor thing lmao......

So if your frugal the 360 isn't the system for you? why?
Sometimes the stuff you post cracks me up.

Not, if your frugal.
But because buying a refurbished Xbox 360 (a console that has hardware problems) for $200 isn't a very smart investment unless it comes with warranty. Because in the case it just go kurplunk on you, then you are screwed when you could have just payed $150 for a new one and had it replaced for free.
But I guess in a way, yes... If your so full of frugalness that you don't want to dish out $150 for a brand new console with warranty, it's not worth buying when you may end up regretting it. So I say, just this once... dish out that extra $150.
P.S. I have never tried to use the word frugal, so im not even sure if I used to correctly.

Well you can still get the arcade edition for $280 if you don't want to dish out too much extra money. The only problem is it doesn't come with a hard drive(but does come with a 256 memory card and you can buy used hard drives for less than the cost of the upgrade).
I have had bad history in the past with buying used x boxes so I wouldn't recommend buying one used.
P.S. Speaking of frugal, if you want to scope out the best deals on getting one online I suggest going to froogle.com (made by google), they combine tons of different merchant websites in one search engine.
