If you game a lot and are looking for a lot of exclusives (timed exclusives) then i'd choose the 360.
However!
If you don't game that much and just want it to play certain third party games i'd choose the ps3. Why? Because for almost the same price you get a gaming console and a bluray drive that is reliable.

I suggest you get Oblivion. There are 2 versions out:
Oblivion Platinum hits Edition: has oblivion but is only 40$
Game of the year Edition: contains Oblivion and all the expansions for the game
I got the GotY edition but you might as well just get the platinum, the expansions aren't that fun. And just playing the game itself I have about 80h played i believe but its been awhile i haven't played.

Opinion. I could say the original GameBoy has the best library on any system period, and I wouldn't be wrong.

Reasons to buy a 360...
because I said so!
Only kidding, most of the points I would make have already been stated, but in short, great online, no real difference in graphics, and I prefer the controller over that of the PS3.

I'm thinking about getting myself a 360 as well.
Though, I'd consider myself a bigger Sony fan; The Gears 2 video made me want a 360.
I'll have to pick up a preorder of MGS4 next month, with nothing to play it on. But, I'll get a PS3 in time. Probably look into picking it up when LBP drops.
Should be getting GeOW, and COD4 when I pick it up.
I'll rent GTA4, and buy it and play it on the controller I really want to when I'm able. Still have to experience it, though. =D
