format not supported

Hi! I'm trying to get my wii u to play on my TV. It's an Emerson hate dolby digital with 2 hdmi ports. When I hooked everything up and powered on the TV screen says format not supported. What can I do to resolve this issue. My pad works and I can play but nothing for the tv

Dont have a Wii U, but have you tried mucking about with the Wii Us settings? Maybe you have to tell it that its going through HDMI or try a diffrent cable

I'm still usin' a craptastic SD TV, so I wouldn't know how to help with your issue from experience, but Bloke might be on to somethin'. In the Wii U's settings (accessed from the main menu via the Wrench icon), you can switch around things like the aspect ration and the input-output stuff. HDMI options and such are definitely in that menu, so messin' with those just might fix your issue.
