The Japanese version is just a different packaging but should work on American version wii's.

Thanks for the Info. The cable is way worth $20. Nintendo has never made a habit of regionizing their accessories. So this cable should be fine. I haven't seen any special chips being used in the articles where they hack apart the standard cables to get Component Signals so there is no reason this cable shouldn't fit.

I lucked upon my gamecube component cables by accident at a Gamestop store. $7 and vga cable cost me like $15 on Ebay

I wonder if the Japanese Wii D-terminal cable can be hacked for VGA signal?
