IP Confirmation

I'm curious, how can you prove its the one person if its from the same IP?

Our entire IP Dept is on the same IP, we have a router and the IP of the router is the only public IP, but all our machines have different local IP's. So technically, i could get banned if a mate here at work wanted to post here too? :wtf:

because they are registered to individual IP addresses everytime someone logs in.

take for instance surfinrach. rach and her BF jay61 are both members, the share an IP address yet they both have different IP for themselves when they sign on.

basically when you have an IP we look for it and see who is loged on. MOST of the time its usually one user one IP but on other instances its one user, 10 IPs (due to AOL or repairs or anything along those lines with routers but are generally the same numbers- the last 2 are different)

either way when we look we see that someone has registered more than one user name. when that user name is discovered we lock it

simple as that

like tlc said. we only ban if the registration IPs of two people are the same and there is no proof that the 2 users are actually diffrent people
