As the sad demise of the Guitar Hero series announced yesterday shows, peripheral-based music games have taken a huge dive in sales, but in contrast, dance games and licensed karaoke games are doing fantastically well, so much so that Konami has today announced that it will soon be releasing Karaoke Revolution Glee: Volume 2 exclusively for Wii. The all-new line up will feature 20 of the best songs and show moments from part two of Glee Season One.

The release of Volume 2 follows hot on the heels of the first smash hit Karaoke Revolution Glee game, once again letting fans feel like part of the world’s most popular glee club – New Directions – as they sing along with their favourite characters. Players can take the mic and belt out Gives You Hell alongside Rachel, pose with Kurt as he performs Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance, or shake the rafters with Mercedes when she brings down the house in Like a Prayer, and much more besides. Gleeks can also expect to see some new faces, including Vocal Adrenaline heartbreaker, Jesse St. James. And even better, the game will also feature extended performances and exclusive clips from the show, offering fans excellent video montages and never-before-seen show moments. Here’s Shinji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, talking about the game:

“We knew that Glee*fans were unbelievably passionate and loyal, but even we were surprised by the overwhelming success of the first*Karaoke Revolution Glee title and the demand for the follow-up. Well, now ‘Gleeks’ have their wish and with this new game they can perform even more of the hits that have made the show such a runaway success.”

Volume 2 will come fully equipped with all-new audio features and voice applications, including a new vibrato indicator to help you hit those high notes and improve your vocal chops, and independent volume controls will be available to adjust the vocal and instrumental noise levels on each track depending on the singer’s preference. Players can also add vocal effects to every song. There’s also a new Scrapbook Mode, where fans can unlock themed Glee items to collect as they reach new achievements.

Look for Karaoke Revolution Glee: Volume 2, to be released exclusively for Wii this spring.
