Mario Strikers Latency Problems

First off, I know this is a half and half with the "Wii Connect"-thread.

My problems is:
The game lags very very much when Im trying to play vs another (random) player on the net.

I have a wireless router on a 512/256 internet connection. After my own opinion no problem with the speed.

Someone please come with some advices on how to improve the connection rate or something to keep the game from lagging :S

Update: I solved this problem by disabling the firewall within the wireless router.

There's really no security issue here, cause there are still a WAP/WEP-wrapper infront of the connection. But thx anyways /sarcasm.
