Official Nintendo Magazine reports today on an interview with Nintendo’s legendary Shigeru Miyamoto in Entertainment Weekly, in which he talks about working on Pikmin 3 for the Wii U. Miyamoto tells EW that when he first started working on Pikmin 3, he assumed that it was for the current Wii console, but now it turns out that it will be coming out on the Wii U, which, he says, gives him a whole lot more scope, “ because the Wii U is capable of HD-quality pictures, and will be accompanied by the subscreen on your hand.” Miyamoto goes on to say that the Wii U version of Pikmin will be “much closer to my ideal,” adding that he is “enjoying” working on the game. Not half as much as we’re going to enjoy playing it! The more you hear talk of the classic Nintendo series coming to Wii U, the more exciting it gets![/FONT]

Now this sounds like it will be a great introductory game for the Wii U. The HD will be put to work with Pikmin's natural world and the controller will accommodate the gameplay.

^Amen to that. This has actually made me excited for the first time about picking up a Wii U when it comes out.

Still haven't played Pikmin 1. Considering how bloody cheap it must be by now, that will be remedied [STRIKE]soon[/STRIKE] eventually.
