New Super Mario Bros.-Inspired Controller Announced-1.052009-12-11 19:53:56Maura SIt’s funny how everyone loved the Wii Remote and hailed it for its innovative design when it came out, and quite right too, but now that New Super Mario Bros. has got everyone jumping up and down like crazy Yoshis for old-school side-scrolling gameplay, manufacturers are falling over themselves to bring out classic style controllers for you to play New Super Mario Bros. with, just like in the good old days. The latest offering in this controller stampede comes from Penguin United, which has devised what it’s calling the Control Brothers. According to Penguin, these 4 in 1 controllers have been designed specifically with New Super Mario Brothers in mind, turning the Wii Remote into a traditional controller that can be held horizontally with both hands. The unit comes in four different colours, and is designed in such a way as to keep the IR port exposed as well as enabling access to all Wii Remote Buttons. All four individually coloured attachments are included for the price of $19.99.

“The Control Brothers help eliminate the finger jamming that many players experience with the Wii Remove,” said Richard Huang, Penguin’s President. “We’ve managed to design an alternative solution that offers an amazing level of comfort while reproducing the horizontal position of traditional controllers.”
