Walk It Out! Walks Out Into Stores Today -1.052010-01-13 16:58:02Maura S

Konami has announced that their fun fitness game Walk It Out! has shipped to stores today in North America. Unfortunately it’s not available in the rest of the world yet, so the rest of us will have to wait to get our funky fitness on. Boo! Walk It Out! marries a high energy/low impact fitness game with rhythm-based gameplay, all played out to a soundtrack of over 100 songs, including original numbers such as Closer by Ne-Yo, Clumsy by Fergie, Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas and Get Ur Freak On by Missy Elliott.

Part exploration and part fitness game, players step to the beat to unlock more areas of the in-game world. In the game you get to walk past harbours, skyscrapers, parks and many other picturesque locations. And all the while you’ll be able to keep track of calories burned, distance travelled and steps taken. You can even play co-operatively and walk with that special someone! Aah! Aside from the main walking and exploring mode, there are also several mini-games and puzzles to play, including Whack-a-Slack, where you stomp on negative energy creatures called Slackies, and Smash ‘n’ Run where you smash the Slackies with a hammer!

The game is compatible with the DanceDanceRevolution Wii controller or the Wii Balance Board, and can also be used with just the Wii Remote and Nunchuk.

Walk It Out! is out now in North America at an MSRP of $29.99.

Sarcasm ftw.

I mean, you really think it fun to walk around in your room for the sake of getting points in a Wii game?
