Another game, another piece of the timeline.
The most difficult arrangement of events in video games. Post your opinions, facts, and any other thoughts.

For starters, where do you place SS? How does it affect past Zelda's?

First you have to decide what games are included in the timeline. For instance would 4 Swords or Minish Cap be included?

As long as Nintendo approves them, they're in.

I don't see CD-I making the cut.

Ok the list of games in the order they came out
I have not played most of them so please fill in the gaps
I used the spoiler button to condense. Skyward contains spoilers

The Legend of Zelda
The Adventure of Link
A Link to the Past
Link's Awakening
Ocarina of Time

Probably the first appearance of Ganon
OoT takes place in two different times
Majora's Mask
After the first timeline of OoT
Why is Ganon gone in this timeline if Link defeated Ganon in the future?
Oracle of Seasons and Ages
Four Swords
The Wind Waker

Probably way after OoT because of the appearance of Ganon
The Minish Cap
Twilight Princess
Phantom Hourglass

Right after WW
Spirit Tracks
A couple of Generations after PH
Skyward Sword
No appearance of Ganon. Probably before OoT
Now we need to put this in a timeline...

impossible no one would capture zelda 25 times thinking 'oh if I just hide his sword really good this time.'

the zelda timeline has sparked my intrest in completing the games, considering I've had just about all of them except majoras mask and never have i beaten a zelda game. non the less, I really would like to know the timeline, or at least, where it for sure starts at, despite the proposed nintendo scenario A, B, etc.

It seems the supposed "official" timeline was released just when I made this topic. They sure love trolling.
The starting point seems to be Skyward Sword.

i think that every game is the sequel of the antecessor
(like majoras mask is after ocarina, twilight princess is after wind waker skyward sword is after spirit tracks
and doesnt mater the timeline only the action and the adventure of the series does mater

If Skyward Sword is the first Zelda game, that makes Ghirahim the first villain in the series.

F-ck yes.
