Brain Cadets Reporting for Duty on WiiWare-1.052010-01-28 15:21:33Maura SRising Star Games has today announced its first ever WiiWare game, Brain Cadets. Brain Cadets challenges you to complete a number of tests under the bossy gaze of a mean and moody Drill Sergeant. Brain Cadets promises to put your brain through “the most gruelling workout ever,” across two gameplay modes: Focus Training and Basic Training. After starting the game as a Private, you’ll get to take on a variety of mini-games designed to boost your brain power so that you can rise up through the ranks to the ultimate rank of Field Marshall.

Featured mini-games include Hell Calculation, where the player must quickly perform sums to take out targets, Hell Roll Call, where players have to complete a variety of commands when their nickname is called, and Hell Shooting, where random targets have to be taken out in the right order. If players don’t answer on time the Drill Sergeant gets increasingly angry until he’s forced to punish you with push-ups, crawling, running, and endurance tests, all using the Wii Remote. There’s also a multiplayer option which pits up to four players against each other.

Martin Defries, managing director, Rising Star Games, had this to say about the game:

“Quick thinking and concentration are key to success in Brain Cadets. Gamers who think they’ve trained their brain to the max should take on the Drill Sergeant’s challenges to find out if they’re smart enough, or face punishment for failing to rise to the challenge.”

Brain Cadets will be available from the WiiWare download channel for 1,000 Wii Points from Friday 5th February.
