Marvel: Ultimate Alliance able to be Online?

Hi, apologies if theres already a thread about this in the forum (i couldnt find one).

Just wondering whether Marvel: Ultimate alliance on the Wii would be able to be played online (in the future), whether if anyone has heard rumours or anything about it, i was told by a friend that the DS or Gamecube (can't remember) is able to be played online.. he may have been lying

but on amazon.com it was advertised for sale and said it was able to be played online.

I haven't seen any options in the game. I checked the instuctions and box but can see no mention of online play. It does state in the multiplayer section of the manual "A friend can sit on the couch next to you and join in".

A sequel might be online enabled, but it looks like you need to invite your friends over to play this one.
