Nintendo Reveals Strong Second-Quarter Lineup for Wii, Nintendo DS

REDMOND, Wash., March 7, 2007 – Wii™ owners of all ages have discovered the fun of playing with a group of friends in the same room. Now for the first time players can compete with one another near and far with Pokémon® Battle Revolution, a game of remarkable firsts:

the first Wii game to include Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection play
the first Pokémon game for Wii
the first game to link Wii and the hand-held Nintendo DS™
and the first Wii game that can be controlled using Nintendo DS
When Wii and Nintendo DS are linked, players can use their Nintendo DS units as controllers or import characters from the upcoming Nintendo DS games Pokémon® Diamond Version or Pokémon® Pearl Version. Pokémon Battle Revolution launches on June 25 exclusively for Wii and brings a dramatic new chapter to the Pokémon franchise, which has sold more than 155 million units worldwide. Pokémon Battle Revolution also serves as one of the standouts in Nintendo's second-quarter launch lineup, which the company revealed today in conjunction with the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.

Pokémon Battle Revolution will be joined by Super Paper Mario™, the first Mario™ game for Wii; Mario Party® 8, a multiplayer party game; and Big Brain Academy™, a brain-training game that builds on the phenomenal success of the Nintendo DS brain games. These will add to the ever-growing library of Wii games, which will total more than 50 by the end of June. Nintendo DS fans will see the arrival of Pokémon Diamond Version and Pokémon Pearl Version, two surefire smash-hits.

pokemon! yes. i can't wait. I'm a poke-geek from way back when red and blue came out.

Can't wait till mario party 8 either, I didn't know what to expect from the mario party franchise so I thought I'd give 7 a chance and it was actually very fun. I just KNOW it's going to be a blast on the wii, with the new controls and all.

I don't understand it, at the moment my Wii is in its box and hasn'd been out since january (early end) there are actually games I want! I WANT to give nintendo and other companies my money! But I can't, why? Because the games I want are out in america, out in japan, are they out in the EU? Are they hell. I wanted DBZ:Tenkaichi 2, Elebits (refuse to call it by that dumbass name) and instead I look through the shelves of GAME and just see a bunch of tat, I may get Sonic, it looks quite good, got 7/10 in an independant mag but £40 is a lot, may wait for friend reviews (Anyone remember when Ninty said a price max of $50? Nice how they 'forgot' to translate this to EU € or £ i.e. $77

The only thing that's holding me back from Pokemon is that you can still only use 'rental' Pokemon. :/

WTF!? Where is SSBB at? Damn it! Gonna have to wait for it longer! Some sites like ebgames said it comes out on June 1st but that must be a lie.

surely you can sonic for about £30 or possiby less if you shop around online? High Street prices are a rip off for games in uk!

Great list, but this is old news, nintendo's only bad thing is that ifyou want to know whats going on you have to look it up. Site is pretty weak into game news.

-AMAZING LINE UP!

Some great games are coming out, but I didn't see mp3 or ssbb!!!!:mad2: :mad5: They would definately have mentioned these games if they were coming out, but obviously not too soon! dammit, i don't want to wait until q3 or q4 for these! But they'll be worth the wait with online play and such. Overall, pretty good list.:yesnod:

wait, wait, wait. pokemon battle revolution is the 1st wifi game for Wii? and its coming out on f***ing June 25? Blazing Angels is supposed to be Wifi and its coming out in 2 weeks. also, why make Pokemon the first wifi game? it was good back when red, blue, and yellow were out, but they started killing it with more pokemon, no more good storyline, and just flatout the same thing over and over again. that being said, if its compatible with yellow, i will own you all. damn, i sound like a pokemon nerd.
