Wii Remote Lights flashing continuously

hi guys needs soe help with a friends wii remotes
the lights are flashing continuously on and off even when the consle is switched off. she says that she has synced the remotes with the console. she has taken rechargeable battery pack/batteries out and placed back in.
we don't know why it's happening

We got our Wii a couple of days ago, and the same thing happened. I had the remotes in another room to charge the batteries.

I read somewhere on this forum it's because the remotes were too far from the Wii console and they can't communicate with the console. I guess I left the Wii console turned on.

When I moved the remotes back to the room where the console is, the lights stopped flashing.
