can you recomend a modem suitable for conncting to the wii name the price and make and also website please

You mean wireless router? That's what you need for connecting your wii to the internet, unless you want to use LAN.
I recommend any Linksys router that says on the box 'wi-fi certified'.
You can get them for around £30-50. www.linksys.com - this link will probably be right, I don't know as I have just guessed it lol. You could try searching google though.

Ok, so you want to connect your wii through LAN.
google 'wii LAN adapter' and you should get some results, I connect my wii wirelessly so I don't have any experience in this field of internet connectivity.

call Tiscali and see if they'll offer you a new wireless modem/router.

failing that, there are plenty available, such as these on ebuyer's site:-

whatever you do, don't buy a wireless router for cable customers.
ensure that your's has ADSL or ADSL+2 somewhere in it's description.

if you do decide to get one, you will need to configure it with a PC first
and enter your ISP supplied username / password combination so that
you're authenticated to your ISP servers.

A Router Has A Modem Built In A Modem Is On Its Own!

sorry to be pinickity, but that's just plain wrong.

i have a router...it hasn't got a modem built in.

ok, there are two types of router available here in the UK:-

ADSL combined modem/router or standalone router for cable customers.

if you're just after a "modem" i'd suggest giving your ISP a call and
requesting one from them, explain what your issues are and hopefully,
they'll offer you a replacement. failing that, have a look on eBay for
alternatives.

if you're after a "wireless modem/router", then i'm unsure as to whether
they give them away....some ISP's do, and i suppose if you threaten to
drop their service they might offer you an upgrade.
