Cant send/recieve Mii/Messeges/Emails!

So I tried sending a messege to my buddy that has a Wii but I cant. I have wireless all set up and I've completely updated the Wii, I even have Opera. So I got into the Wii messege boards and add my friend to the address book. He added me and he can send messeges but I cant receive them. I've looked on the forum but I didn't find any answers really. Has anyone come up with a sure fire way to fix this? Does it have to do with router settings? Thanks

Just bumping this incase anyone has a great solution. I don't know if it was my router's firewall or something but I messed around with the settings and it's fine now. Or it could just be you hafta let your wii sit there for a day after it updates...? who know but it works now
