CVG reports today that Konami’s UK studio head, Dave Cox, has revealed that HD assets that could be used in a console version of forthcoming Nintendo 3DS title Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow - Mirror Of Fate have already been created by the game’s developer, MercurySteam. Cox then went on to tell CVG that Konami would “absolutely” think about releasing an upgraded HD version of the game for the Wii U. “We created everything in high definition - all the textures, all the levels, high-poly models, everything - and we kind of shrunk it all down into the 3DS.” Cox also confirmed that as well as these console-ready HD assets, MercurySteam does in fact have a full HD version of the game “sitting there in a computer somewhere.” And judging by other revealing comments from Cox, it could even be a Wii U exclusive, as he points out that MercurySteam currently has an exclusive deal with Nintendo for the game, which is due out on 3DS on March 8 in the UK and March 5 in the US.
